Spray Foam Insulation in Atlanta, GA

Fiberglass slows heat down. Spray foam stops air. In an Atlanta summer, when a closed-up attic can reach 140 degrees, that difference shows up on your power bill and in how your upstairs feels. We install open-cell and closed-cell foam in homes and commercial buildings, and the owner handles your quote.

Benefits

Why choose spray foam insulation

A true air seal

Foam expands into every gap, seam and penetration. Air leakage is where most of a home's heating and cooling is lost, and foam is the material that actually closes it.

Lower energy bills

A sealed, insulated envelope means your HVAC runs less. GCS cites savings of 15% or more for many homes. Your results depend on the house you start with.

Moisture and mold control

Atlanta humidity is hard on attics and crawl spaces. Closed-cell foam resists water and acts as a vapor barrier, so damp air stays out of the structure.

Quieter, more even rooms

Foam dampens outside noise and evens out the hot upstairs room, cold garage-ceiling bedroom problem that batts leave behind.

Our process

How our spray foam insulation process works

  1. 1

    Free inspection

We look at your attic, crawl space or walls, check what insulation is there, and talk through your comfort and energy goals.

  2. 2

    Foam type and scope

We recommend open-cell, closed-cell or a mix for each area, and put the scope and price in writing.

  3. 3

    Prep and masking

Windows, floors, HVAC and finished surfaces are covered. We seal off the work area and set up ventilation for the crew.

  4. 4

    Spray in controlled passes

Foam goes on in layers to the right thickness. It expands and cures to a continuous seal, including around wiring, plumbing and framing.

  5. 5

    Inspect and clean up

We check coverage and depth, clean the site and walk you through the finished work and re-entry guidance.

Spray Foam Insulation FAQs

What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?

Open-cell is softer and expands more, delivers about R-3.7 per inch, and is the common choice for attic roof decks and sound control. Closed-cell is dense and rigid, delivers about R-6.5 per inch, resists water, and is the usual choice for crawl spaces, basements and areas that may see moisture.

Which type is best for my home?

It depends on the space. Many Atlanta homes use open-cell on the underside of the attic roof deck and closed-cell in the crawl space. We look at the house first and recommend per area rather than selling one product for everything.

How long does spray foam insulation take to install?

Many attics are finished in a day, and larger or multi-area jobs take longer. We give you a schedule with the estimate.

How long does spray foam last?

Properly installed foam does not settle or sag the way loose or batt insulation can, and it typically lasts the life of the building. GCS also advertises a lifetime manufacturer warranty and its own 10-year labor guarantee. Ask us to confirm the exact terms for your product when you request your estimate.

Do I need attic or roof venting with spray foam?

Not when the roof deck is foamed. Sealing the underside of the roof deck turns the attic into a semi-conditioned space, so the soffit, gable and ridge vents are sealed as part of the work. We explain exactly what will change before we start.

Will spray foam cause mold or trap moisture?

Foam itself does not feed mold. Closed-cell foam is a vapor barrier, and a sealed attic or crawl space has far less humid air moving through it. We check for existing moisture or roof leaks before we spray, because those should be fixed first.

Are pests attracted to spray foam?

Foam has no food value and is not a nesting material the way fiberglass and cellulose can be. It is not a guarantee against pests, but it removes many of the gaps they use to get in.

Can I install spray foam myself?

We do not recommend it. Mixing ratios, temperature, thickness per pass and ventilation all affect the result, and mistakes are expensive to remove. Professional equipment and training is the safer route.

How much does spray foam cost in Atlanta?

It depends on the square footage, foam type, thickness and access. We quote every job in writing after seeing the space, and the estimate is free.
